Sharing the process of rhinoplasty with fellow surgeons
Dr. Taek Kyun Kim of THE PLUS Plastic Surgery took part in a live surgery session at the BAPS 2026 Busan Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium on October 18, 2026. The meeting was held at Moam Hall, Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital.
The publicly listed education programme identifies his session as “Open rhinoplasty with rib cartilage.”
A view of the process, beyond the postoperative result
Live surgery is an academic teaching format in which medical professionals observe a surgical process together. It provides a way to share the sequence of an approach and technical details that postoperative photographs alone cannot explain.
This activity focused on a specific clinical topic: rhinoplasty using rib cartilage. The accompanying operating-room photographs document the setting of that academic exchange.
Considering the individual, beyond a single material
Choosing rib cartilage does not, on its own, define a rhinoplasty plan. Nasal structure, skin condition, previous surgery and the changes a patient hopes to achieve all need to be considered.
THE PLUS Plastic Surgery places importance on reviewing materials and techniques in relation to each individual. Dr. Kim continues to share clinical experience through academic activities while maintaining a thoughtful approach to treatment planning.
