APS KOREA 2026 brings together clinicians from Korea and around the world
Dr. Jae Yong Jeong and Dr. Taek Kyun Kim of THE PLUS Plastic Surgery participated in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Korea 2026, held on April 11 and 12, 2026, at Seoul Dragon City Hotel.
APS KOREA is an international academic meeting organized by the Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. The 2026 event brought together more than 700 medical professionals from approximately 20 countries to share recent research and clinical experience in aesthetic plastic surgery.
Dr. Taek Kyun Kim chairs a rhinoplasty session
Dr. Kim chaired the session “Personal Lessons for Juniors in Rhinoplasty.”
A session chair guides the proceedings so that speakers’ presentations run smoothly and coordinates discussion and questions on the key topics.
The session shared practical experiences and lessons that clinicians should consider when performing primary, revision and functional rhinoplasty.
Dr. Jae Yong Jeong presents challenges and solutions in revision rhinoplasty
Dr. Jeong presented “Hurdles and Know-how to Overcome in Secondary Rhinoplasty.”
The title refers to the challenges that may arise in revision rhinoplasty and practical knowledge for overcoming them.
Revision rhinoplasty requires careful assessment because the cartilage and support structures may have changed after the first operation, scar tissue may have developed, or the condition of implants and cartilage may need to be reassessed.
In addition to external appearance, it is important to consider the septum and nasal tip support, functional concerns associated with obstruction, and the condition of the patient’s own tissues available for use.
Drawing on his experience in a range of revision cases, Dr. Jeong shared points to assess during preoperative diagnosis and planning, as well as problems that may arise during surgery and ways to address them.
Academic activities that reassess accumulated experience
An academic presentation is not simply a one-way account of a clinician’s experience. Questions and perspectives from other clinicians also provide an opportunity to reassess established surgical methods.
THE PLUS Plastic Surgery shares its experience in primary and revision rhinoplasty with colleagues in Korea and overseas, continually evaluating new research and diverse views in clinical practice.
We will continue to carefully assess each patient’s current nasal condition and previous surgical history, providing care that considers aesthetic changes alongside nasal structure and function.
