Performing live rhinoplasty for an international audience of surgeons
Dr. Taek Kyun Kim of THE PLUS Plastic Surgery participated as an invited international faculty member at RASP 2026, the 20th Ramathibodi Annual Symposium of Plastic Surgery, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 3 to 5, 2026.
Plastic surgeons and researchers from around the world gathered at the symposium to share the latest rhinoplasty techniques and clinical experience.
More than simply attending a conference
At RASP 2026, Dr. Kim personally performed a live demonstration of structural rhinoplasty.
Live surgery is an educational program that shows medical professionals the entire surgical process in real time, from analyzing the patient’s nasal anatomy and deciding on an approach to the detailed techniques used to handle cartilage and the septum.
Rather than presenting only the final result, it provides a direct view of the surgical process and the surgeon’s decision-making.
Looking at structure before shape
Rhinoplasty is not simply a procedure to raise the nasal bridge or change the shape of the nose.
The condition of the nasal bones, septum and cartilage, skin thickness, nasal tip support and any previous surgical history differ from patient to patient.
For this reason, THE PLUS Plastic Surgery does not apply one surgical method in exactly the same way to every patient.
We carefully analyze the current nasal structure and distinguish the areas to preserve from those requiring reinforcement in order to develop an individualized surgical plan.
Bringing international experience to each patient’s surgery
There is one purpose behind sharing surgical approaches with international colleagues and studying new techniques and clinical experience: developing more precise and carefully considered surgical plans.
THE PLUS Plastic Surgery will continue its research into individualized rhinoplasty, carefully considering not only appearance but also nasal structure, support and function.
